The focus of the Forum is to strive towards an excellent corporate governance system where values are as important a foundation as economic rules or regulations. The catch phrase is 'entrepreneurship in the global public interest'. The World Economic Forum consider that economic progress without social development is not sustainable, while social development without economic progress is not feasible.
