Two new IT investments from SEED Capital Denmark

(2005) SEED Capital Denmark has invested in two new promising IT companies:

SEMuS

SEMuS has invented a new way to produce electro-optic modulators from strained silicon. Compared to existing modulators, SEMuS’ modulators are much smaller and less expensive to produce allowing for new applications in standard PCs. The research was published in Nature, May 11th, 2006.

Teklatech

Teklatech is developing an EDA-tool, solving the timing closure problems of the large, hierarchical system-on-chip designs. With scaling fabrication technologies, process variations present an ever increasing challenge to achieving timing closure. The EDA tool effectively addresses these challenges. The tool enables a hierarchical approach to timing closure, which complements the modular system-on-chip design approaches used in the industry today. The method is scalable and technology agnostic, and therefore, tracks well into deep submicron geometries.
