3.3 million € for online shopping you can trust

Trustpilot - the service that allows users to share their experiences with online shopping - has raised 3.3 million € from the two Nordic venture funds SEED Capital and Northzone. The investment is dedicated to making Trustpilot the dominant player within their field on a global scale.

Trustpilot was launched in 2007, is available in 10 European countries. At the moment, Trustpilot is gaining large European market shares in countries such as Holland, France and England, where marketing activities has been intensified over the past year. In Denmark, the service is already dominant.

With a significant investment of 3.3 million € from two of the largest Nordic venture funds – SEED Capital and Northzone – marketing activities will be intensified throughout Europe with the purpose of becoming the dominant player in Europe, and then globally. The investment will also contribute to strengthening Trustpilot’s organization with international competences.

Peter Holten Mühlmann, CEO at Trustpilot: “Our ambition is clear. We will be the most powerful global player in the market for online user reviews of online shopping, and to do that we need the strongest team. We already have a highly skilled group of employees, but if we are going to meet our own and our investors’ ambitions of global leadership, we must continue to strengthen the organization”.

Lars Andersen, General Partner at SEED Capital: “We are strongly convinced that Trustpilot has the potential to become the strongest player within its category. With relatively few means, they have developed a unique product with an effective business model, and at the same time achieved impressive growth in both users and clients”.
