Alkalon ready for international commercialisation
Alkalon has filed for european approval of Nicorono Nicotine Gum after completing 2 years of development work. The expectation is to launch this new generic nicotine gum commercially in a number of European countries in 2012.
Alkalon is seeking approval based on a clinical study that showed bioequivalence to the reference product Nicorette® nicotine gum.
Chief Executive Officer Mr. Bo Tandrup said: “During the coming year Alkalon's business focus will be international commercialisation of the dossiers primarily by entering license and supply agreements with generic companies Worldwide. Alkalon expects to start a new promising development project shortly and in the future we wish to be able to offer not only smoking cessation gums, but also products in other categories.”

Alkalon is an independent, privately owned Contract Research and Product Development company based in the Danish-Swedish life science cluster Medicon Valley. The company has in-depth experience with formulation development of medicinal chewing gum and is working in partnerships with Pharmaceutical companies on dosage form development projects and supply of finished products.
