Amminex part of the global Cleantech elite
Cleantech company Amminex has been placed on the Global Cleantech 100 list. A list of the 100 most innovative and promising companies in Cleantech.
Amminex has developed a chemical process that makes it possible to store ammonia safely and compact in a solid state. The technology can help manufacturers of diesel vehicles remove NOx from diesel vehicle exhaust, which is a legal requirement in both EU and U.S. NOx is a form of air pollution that contributes to smog, ozone depletion and acid rain.
Amminex's technology will in the future also be used to store hydrogen in vehicles - a major step towards producing cars powered by fuel cells. Amminex was established in 2005 and is based on research from DTU.
In 2006, SEED Capital invested in the company's breakthrough technology and in 2009, Amminex signed an agreement with North America's largest manufacturer of trucks - Navistar. Expectedly, the first cars with the technology will run of assembly line in 2011.
