AudioAsics A/S sold to global technology leader Analog Devices Inc.

(19.9.2006) Today - the shareholders of AudioAsics A/S announced the sale of the company to Analog Devices Inc. (NYSE: ADI), which is headquartered in the and recognized worldwide for its leadership in signal processing solutions.

AudioAsics, a developer of advanced audio solutions, will become a key player in ADI’s development of low-power audio capabilities. The selling shareholders include the founding team, consisting of CEO Michael Deruginsky, CTO Claus E. Fürst, PhD, Igor Mucha, PhD, , and Henrik Thomsen, as well as the Danish investors Vækstfonden, SEED Capital Denmark, and Henrik Hvidtfeldt, who have all been involved with the company since it was founded just three years ago.

”Our team, our technologies, and our products fit perfectly into ADI’s strategic plan, and ADI has the market strength and scale to drive continued expansion of our business. ADI maintains design centers all over the world, so it’s natural that AudioAsics will continue to be based in Denmark, where there is not only a strong collaboration between technology and industry, but also a great talent pool to grow our team,” states CEO Michael Deruginsky.

The combination of AudioAsics’ expertise in high-performance, low-power microphone and audio signal conditioning technology with Analog Devices’ signal processing capabilities is expected to result in miniature, low-power audio solutions that provide better sound quality in portable consumer and communications products like MP3 players, cell phones, and PDAs.

"The acquisition by Analog Devices will help catapult AudioAsics from a company with world-class potential into a position as a true global leader in their market. We are very proud of the international success created by the AudioAsics team since they founded the company three years ago," says Eric-Alan Rapp, Investment Director with Vaekstfonden.

“SEED Capital and the Symbion innovation center are pleased with the fact that a Danish start-up company like AudioAsics has become an integral part of the low-power strategy of such a key international player. This transaction demonstrates that Danish innovation and venture capital can produce serious international results,” adds , Partner with SEED Capital Denmark.

“AudioAsics is a good example of how a Danish start-up company can create a strong international footprint and, with skills and focused execution, establish a position in the core of a paradigm shift—in this case the shift from analog to digital microphones. There will also be long-term benefits generated by this transaction, if only by the increased level of attention that will follow in the wake of this deal,” states investor Henrik Hvidtfeldt.
