In the 2012 version of the Gartner Cool Vendors Report for Imaging and Print Services, SEED Capital’s portfolio company Blueprinter is highlighted as a truly innovative solution in an otherwise crowded and hyped market.

In their description of Blueprinter Gartner states that Blueprinter’s SHS technology “is an innovative approach to printing low-cost yet useful 3D models that has the potential to significantly impact the 3D printing market”. They also add that “BluePrinter's unique technology and low price point will enable it to stand out, especially for organizations that see potential value in 3D printing and are willing to test the technology but are unwilling to invest significant funds in the hardware”.

Gartner is the world's leading information technology research and advisory company and one of their services is the Cool Vendors Report, which features early stage companies, who via their technology or business model is able to offer something truly innovative and groundbreaking. The report is seen as an indicator of what’s coming next in IT and who will provide it.
