SEED Capital invests in the best mobile application in Denmark

SEED Capital has invested in the Danish sports community Endomondo where users can record their sporting activities through website or mobile and share the results with their friends.

With this investment Endomondo expects to further boost an already impressive development. Endomondo.com is currently experiencing an impressive growth with approximately 700,000 registered site users spread across 200 countries. Their mobile application has been downloaded 1.4 million times, and was recently voted "Best Mobile Application" in Denmark in a nationwide competition.

The application makes a GPS phone capable of recording route, speed, and much more while the users runs, bikes or similar sporting activities. When a user has completed the activity, the trip is stored on a personal profile at Endomondo.com and from there you can follow your own progress, challenge friends and follow their training. The mobile application is available in both a free version and a more advanced paid version.

"Endomondo is using their strong growth in social media to create a powerful service for the growing group of exercisers. It is a company with great global potential, which we in SEED Capital have been focused on for several years. The team behind Endomondo is professional and has worked hard to create the user growth, which makes Endomondo a very interesting investment, "said Niels Vejrup Carlsen, Investment Manager at SEED Capital.

For Endomondo the investment means opportunities: "We have from the beginning been focused on growth and the investment from SEED Capital allows us to speed up the development of our service even more and to attract new users," says Mette Lykke, who together with Christian Birk and James Jønck founded the company three years ago.
