Trustpilot ready for European expansion

1000 customers can’t be wrong!! The consumer site Trustpilot has raised capital to make online shopping safer across Europe. Together with the existing shareholders, SEED Capital has injected DKK 5,5 million in the Danish consumer website Trustpilot, where users can gain an overview of companies’ customer satisfaction and contribute their own experiences with the click of a button. The capital injection is the first step in Trustpilot’s aggressive European expansion plan.

Trustpilot currently has over half a million users on a monthly basis, and the user profile is becoming increasingly international. Trustpilot is dominant in Denmark and has introduced the popular consumer service to a further ten countries. With over 1000 customers, Trustpilot has demonstrated the value of their business -model: Companies pay a subscription for Trustpilot to help them work proactively with customer reviews, gaining better visibility for their customers service, and thereby increasing their conversion of visitors into customers.

“We believe that Trustpilot is one of Denmark’s most interesting companies within ecommerce. They have a very strong consumer-led product and simultaneously offer a very relevant service to all companies engaging in commercial activity online. They have the potential to be the leading global brand for the measurement of consumer satisfaction online. We’re looking forward to helping Trustpilot with their international expansion”, says Niels Vejrup Carlsen, Investment Director at SEED Capital.

“Right from the start, we’ve focused on growth and as a result we have a very strong position in Denmark. The investment from SEED Capital allows us to continue on that path with more product development and powerful expansion. This will be focused primarily on the UK and the Nordic countries where we can prove that we’re able to scale the service effectively”, declares Peter Holten Mühlmann, CEO and founder of Trustpilot.
